About Me

Robert L Curry

I started using computers back in High School in the early 80s.  At that time things where limited to DOS and an Apple machine.  Needless to say we have all come a very long way since those days.

After finishing an active duty tour with the U.S. Marines, I became interested in computers again and marveled at the new Windows 93 operating system.  In the early 90s, I primarily used the computer to play games and write college papers.  As time went on I got involved with email and Net2 Phone for making computer to phone calls to save on long distance charges.

In the late 90s I became very interested in other programs for doing business such as Microsoft Office and accounting programs such as Quicken and Money.  I especially became interested in creating websites to promote business.  I soon found out that creating a really professional website takes a lot of knowledge and lot of hard work.  With limited knowledge of how to create websites I struggled for the first couple years until I made the decision to return to College and gain the skills necessary to become a professional IT (information technology) specialist.

I currently own and manage O'Corra, a company registered in Niles, MI which specializes in web application development, specifically taking static websites and transforming them into dynamic sites with back-end database management systems.  I believe the future of networks is going to involve the internet in every aspect, and is already upon us.  Secure user login web portals are becoming ever more popular, allowing corporate staff to access critical data from abroad.  I'm excited about being involved with this globalization of information, and dedicated to my clients in helping them meet their business needs.
